Health Insurance - Local 1000

Health Insurance

Health Insurance - Local 1000Like other self-employed workers, musicians in the U.S. risk financial disaster, should they become seriously ill. Local 1000 now offers 2 plans that will cover most of your medical expenses. Premiums are paid by employer contributions and can be as little as $400 every 6 months.

Traveling musicians, like other self-employed people in the U.S., face the enormous difficulty of finding affordable, accessible health insurance.  Here are the two options we now have:

Continuing health benefit plan

The health care plan that we were able to offer through AFM Local 802 has changed.

With skyrocketing premiums and growing numbers people of uninsured and underinsured people, the U.S. health care system is in a state of crisis. This is a problem no single labor union or sector of society can solve alone. We encourage our members to support organizations and individuals working to change this situation.
