Joe Stanton

Singer/songwriter/fingerstyle Guitarist from the Canadian West Coast.

Joe’s philosophy of “playing wherever they’ll listen” has taken him and his Martin D28, on a 40 year
journey from his favorites haunts in his home on the Canadian Sunshine coast, to a concert in a hot air
balloon over the Swiss Alps, to the Kerrville Folk festival in the hill country of Texas, to the world
fingerpicking championships in Winfield Kansas, and aboard the historic “Canadian” VIA Rail train from
Vancouver to Toronto.
Joe’s acoustic guitar style has been likened to his heroes, Leo Kottke, Chet Atkins, Bruce Cockburn, and
his songwriting has resulted in 5 cd’s, styles ranging from Bluegrass, to contemporary folk, to alt country,
 
Over the years Joe has performed all over Canada, The U.S. and Europe. Highlights include performing
for the Olympic Torch Relay at the Vancouver Winter Olympics, The Kerrville Folk festival in Texas, as
well as the prestigious Vancouver Island Music festival in 2012.
 

Jennifer Camp

My first band was (Whirligig) with Linda Gonzalez and Ben Robinson from Athens, Georgia in the nineties. We performed primarily folk music.

In 1994-1999 I performed with The Dilettantes ( with bassist Eric Agner and lead guitarist Greg Schlimm) (folk, jazz, old country, rock, Texas swing) in Baltimore, Maryland. I was also a member of Dame’s Rocket ( Rod Smith, Eric Agner, Jim Brink),  a Baltimore based rock and roll band (retro rock, retro country, Texas swing, surf) from 1996-2006. In 1999 I joined the folk trio, Hot Soup (with Sue Trainor, Christina Muir) and performed with them until 2003.

I later performed with Jim Seechuk, primarily the coffee circuit in the Baltimore – Annapolis area (2004-2006)

I also performed in a duo with Dave Giegerich of The Hula Monsters (2006-2009) in Baltimore, MD in cafes, pubs and restaurants.

I joined the Baltimore City Pipe Band in 2007-present, playing the Scottish highland bagpipes in parades, parties, weddings, funerals and other events.

Vi Wickam

From bluegrass and jazz to rock & roll and old-time fiddle, Vi the Fiddler exudes energy, passion, humor, and musical mastery in every performance.

Vi Wickam is an accomplished solo performer and also fronts his own band, cleverly named Vi Wickam and The Band. In addition, he’s a member of Fritto Misto, and Fiddle Whamdiddle. The latter’s albums Old School Old Time and Not My Monkey were honored by inclusion on the Grammy Ballot in 2014 and 2016 respectively.

In 2018, Vi had 2 albums chart in the top 5 of Folk DJ Radio. His album Armadillo on a Hot Tin Roof hit #4 in April and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas hit #5 in December. He’s a 4-time Colorado State Fiddling Champion, a finalist at the Grand Masters’ Fiddler Championship, and Runner Up in the National Fiddle Contest.

In addition to performing, Vi is a highly regarded music instructor. He’s a founder of the online music school myTalentForge.com, and is much in demand as a teacher at music workshops and camps around the US.

Fred Gosbee

Tall, skinny, play 12-string guitar and 14-string guitar, fiddle, Irish flute (not all at once) Sing historic, humorous, and humorous historic songs. I work with Julia Lane, singer, folklorist and harper extraordinaire. We tour Cape Breton to Cape Canaveral; West Virginia to Kosovo. In 2021 we published a songbook of historical sea songs collected in Maine prior to 1943.

Ben Deschamps

Multi-instrumentalist Ben Deschamps plays regularly with Celtic artist Heather Dale, and also tours internationally as a side musician for other folk and blues acts. Ben’s long recording career includes producing and/or engineering over 40 albums, and running live sound for performances. Ben Deschamps and Heather Dale have played 1500+ shows across 3 continents. Together they run the musician-friendly OnlineConcertThing.com music platform. Ben has been a proud Local 1000 member since 2011.

George Mann

A former union organizer, George Mann hails from Ithaca, New York and has been producing labor and protest music for more than 25 years. He has performed with and produced albums featuring such folk music legends as Utah Phillips, Pete Seeger and Tom Paxton, and produced national tours of the US and Australia in honor of the Almanac Singers (2013) and Joe Hill (2015). George brings his experience as a union organizer and educator to his concerts– stories and songs about real events and the struggle for a better life. He is touring Australia and releasing a new CD “This Chain” in October 2023.

Beth Cahill

Beth Cahill is a musical raconteuse with quirky tales to tell. She has found her own, true voice – it can be intimate, explosive, soothing or even forlorn. Her style rises from the broad roots of a cultural tree that spreads its leafy branches high above her Illinois Celtic-ness. It leans casually up against an Americana-esque array of blues, jazz and other traditional influences to come to gracefully rest alongside the river that flows past her Québec home. While she calls Wakefield, Quebec home she tours extensively across North America, both solo and with The Malvinas. She is currently the Secretary Treasurer of Local 1000.

Eric Erickson

Having grown up listening to Peter, Paul & Mary, The Beatles, Rogers & Hammerstein, James Taylor and their cohorts, Eric Erickson learned from masters about what makes a good song and a good performance. His approach was further enhanced by over 30 years of singing tenor in the a capella vocal ensemble, Woodstock Renaissance, who specialized in the music of The Renaissance and The Middle Ages. Elements of all of these have found their way into Eric’s original tunes, which can be found on his two full-length albums and a forthcoming EP which Eric is confident will be released “sometime during the current millennium.” 

 

Eric was also the host of the long-running folk music program, “Jus’ Folks” on WDST in Woodstock NY, where he programmed the music of current and legacy folk music performers and hosted in-studio performances and interviews with some of the most iconic folk musicians, including Odesa, Richie Havens and Happy and Artie Traum.

Eric has shared the stage with, among others, Peter Yarrow, Pete Seeger, Cheryl Wheeler, Susan Werner, Noel Stookey, Tom Chapin and Livingston Taylor. He continues to roam the northeast with his acoustic guitar. The Huffington Post says, “Erickson plays a neat guitar (and) sings evocative… self-composed new tunes.”
