Local 1000 was thrilled to present past president and founding member John McCutcheon with the Utah Phillips Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Labor Movement at the recent Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS.

Once again Local 1000 will have a prominent presence at SERFA being held at the Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, NC, May 17-21, 2017.
One of the most important things we do is keep in touch with you, our members. We need your help! We are looking for members who want to help oversee this very important aspect of our work.
On Friday, January 20th, several of our Local 1000 members will be part of an alternative concert called "The Un-Naugural Concert." It will be a Local 1000 contracted event and profits will go to ACLU, Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, National LGBTQ Task Force, Planned Parenthood and League of Conservation Voters.
We are sorry to have to let you know that as of December 23, 2016, the US Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS) has decided to increase the fees for all O and P visa petitions by 42% from US $325 to US $460. The Canadian Federation of Musicians office is advising that December 15, 2016 will be the last day to submit a P2 application to them under the current fee, due to the time it takes them to prepare each petition before sending to the USCIS.
